Uçhisar Castle
A rock-cut landmark above Uçhisar.
The castle is carved into a prominent rock formation and offers wide views over the surrounding Cappadocia landscape. It works well as the focus of an Uçhisar visit rather than a brief roadside stop.
Plan the approach
Allow for the approach through town and for steps if you intend to visit the upper sections. Ask at the entrance about access and conditions before committing to a climb. You can combine the town visit with a separate stop overlooking Pigeon Valley.

By local minibus (dolmuş)
From Göreme to Uçhisar, dolmuş departures are every 30 minutes between 07:30 and 18:00, for example 13:00, 13:30 and 14:00.
To return from Uçhisar to Göreme, use a dolmuş arriving from Nevşehir and continuing towards Göreme or Avanos. Confirm with the driver that it stops in Göreme before boarding. The Göreme departure times above are not a timetable for the return direction.
